Book Groups

We run three evening book groups, taking place in the upstairs, private room of The Lansdown pub round the corner from the shop.

• Fiction Book Club is on the last Wednesday of the month.
• Non-fiction Book Club is on the last Monday of the month.
• Ruthless Book Club is on the second Thursday of every month; Ruthless attendees will find we read experimental, dark, genre-bending writing – nothing is off limits.

The groups run from 18.30-19.45. Space is limited, so please contact us if you are interested in joining. We ask that you purchase a copy of the book from us, or a different book if you already own a copy.

The long-anticipated Poetry Book Club and Short Fiction Book Club arrived in July!
These take place in the upstairs, private room at The Albion.

• Poetry Book Club is on the first Wednesday of the month. Dates for the rest of the year: 3rd July, 7th August, 4th September, 2nd October, 6th November.
• Short Fiction Book Club (novellas and short stories) is on the second Tuesday of every month. Dates for the rest of the year: 9th July, 13th August, 10th September, 8th October, DATE CHANGE JUST IN NOVEMBER: 5th November.

Poetry and Short Fiction meet in The Albion, 16.00-17.15. We ask that you buy the book from us and that you buy something in the pub – they do have plenty of coffees/soft drinks as well as excellent harder drinks…!

We don’t run the book groups in December; look out for January announcements soon!
