Festive Book Subscriptions

If you have someone really wonderful to whom you want to give a brilliant present but are panicked by the choice, let us help.

We will send one book a month for six months to the lucky recipient.

Pick from, ‘The weird and the eerie,’ ‘Nature matters,’ ‘Warm hugs in book form’ or ‘Picture books are for “grown-ups” too.’

Tell us their name and address. We will do the rest.

The subscription is £78 – £13 per month – which includes the book, postage, packaging and a beautiful Heron Books card which you can present them with on the day, with an insert explaining the gift. The card is drawn by local artist Poppy Victoria May.

Books will be sent to arrive at the beginning of each month. If we send something they already have, we will fix it. Contact details included with the card.

About the choices:

The weird and the eerie – fiction for the adventurous, edgy reader, one who enjoys a fever dream of a book, something a little dark, labyrinthine or uncanny.

Nature matters – a mixture of non-fiction and fiction for those who enjoy watching a heron for hours or going tree hunting or rescuing tired bees or… reading about such healthy and wholesome exploits.

Warm hugs – fiction for the person who wants to curl up of an evening with a hot chocolate and a brilliantly written book. There may be jeopardy but you can be sure of kindness too.

Picture books are for “grown-ups” too – picture books but of the absolute best sort, clearly written as much for the adult as the child. You can order this for someone of any age: we respect every member of the picture book fan club.
