Join us in the Arcade after hours for our monthly poetry reading. 6pm, Saturday 13th July.

Jonathan Edwards’s first collection, My Family and Other Superheroes (Seren, 2014), received the Costa Poetry Award and the Wales Book of the Year People’s Choice Award. It was shortlisted for the Fenton Aldeburgh First Collection Prize. His second collection, Gen (Seren, 2018), also received the Wales Book of the Year People’s Choice Award, and in 2019 his poem about Newport Bridge was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Single Poem. He received the Troubadour Poetry Prize in 2022. He has been a judge for the National Poetry Competition and the Wales Book of the Year, a Literature Wales mentor of emerging writers and a Royal Literary Fund Fellow. He lives in Crosskeys, South Wales.

The evening will begin with a reading from Adam Elms, followed by Jonathan’s reading.

Born and bred in Devon, Adam is a visually impaired creative who has lived in Bristol for almost twenty years. He recently returned to the spoken word scene after a decade away and performs regularly at poetry events, festivals, and open mics in and around the city. His work has been published in anthologies, chapbooks, and online journals by Walk – Listen – Create, Frosted Fire, the R.C. Sherriff Trust, Lord Whisky Foundation, and Nuthatch Press. Adam won the 2023 Waltham Forest Poetry Award with his poem, ‘The Last VHS Player In England.’
